The Story
It all starts before morning’s first light. Hardy, multi-generational Icelandic fishermen set out early, braving the bitter cold and abrasive salty air.
They spend hours on the water, fishing with long lines—a more traditional method that’s better for the environment, and the fish. Once they have their catch, they methodically roll in the lines, as they’ve done thousands of times before, and head back to shore.
The fish, including the best haddock and cod in the world, is then sent to the town of Reykjanesbær for processing. We always use real people for this part. They work hard all day, in our state-of-the-art factory, expertly hand-cutting each fillet.
The fillets are then portioned, flash frozen, and vacuum sealed—when they're less than a day out of the ocean—for optimal freshness and convenience. We use a machine to measure out each portion of fish precisely, ensuring you get the exact right amount of fish, every time.
Of course, you are the most important part of the final step: You choose our fish in the supermarket, over all other brands, to feed your family. We couldn't be more proud that our hard work, an ocean away, helps nourish you and your family.
We decided to start with what we know best, Atlantic Cod and Haddock. We’ve been working with these fish for years, and we decided we’d bring our expertise to you. Click below to learn more about each fish.

At Iceland Catch, we focus on bringing you the best frozen fish possible. We believe that high-quality seafood can be affordable, accessible, and healthy. We practice techniques that protect the environment so we can ensure the sustainability of our products.
Our fish come from pure, clean waters thanks to our geographic location, Iceland. We use hydroelectric and geothermal power, which help us maintain renewable and clean production facilities. Our sustainable fishing practices use less than half the energy of trawlers, and we catch our fish using long-line fisheries, a more sustainable method of fishing.
Iceland catch’s parent company, Aquafisk, is rated by the Marine Stewardship Council as Certified Sustainable, and we take pride in our environmentally friendly practices. At Iceland Catch, it is our focus to bring convenience and quality together. We are one of the few direct-to-supermarket Icelandic frozen fish brands in the United States, and we take pride in that fact.
